El remake de Final Fantasy Tactics no incluirá contenido de War of the Lions y más detalles

Good news is coming again for Final Fantasy fans. It focuses on a different title than the rumored Final Fantasy IX Remake. We’re talking about Final Fantasy Tactics.

After several rumors, it has been confirmed that Square Enix will bring Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles to Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. We now have the release date: September 30, 2025. It has also been confirmed that Square Enix has published an interview with Kazutoyo Maehiro, Director of Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles.

In the meeting, he confirmed these details:

• The team decided to focus on the original game of Final Fantasy Tactics instead of War of the Lions (PSP, 2007), because they did not directly participate in that version and wanted to respect the original work they created themselves.
• The intention was to revive the original experience for a new generation, maintaining fidelity to the design and narrative of the 1997 game.
• They considered including content from War of the Lions such as characters Balthier and Luso, and the Onion Knight and Dark Knight jobs, but opted not to do so to avoid altering the essence of the original game.
• The focus was to preserve the game as it was including characters, jobs, visual effects, and classic sound effects.
• The team’s goal was to recreate the original experience betting on nostalgia and authenticity for veteran and new players.

Considering that Square Enix plans to focus on multiplatform releases in the future, it is likely that we can see more games on Nintendo Switch 2.
