Es oficial: El Museo del Louvre en París acaba de retirar las Nintendo 3DS audioguías

It seems we have more news after the closure of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS online servers. Remember that they closed on April 8, 2024, affecting many games prior to the Nintendo Switch. That date has come and we’ve already seen what happens when trying to connect. Now we have an interesting news update related to the portable console.

And that’s because, after learning that some users remained online despite the closure, as well as some records and the last users, it seems that the Louvre Museum in Paris has officially stopped using the New Nintendo 3DS as audio guides. They will replace it with a new system: they had already mentioned it a few weeks ago and now the change has occurred. Le Monde has confirmed that this change occurred yesterday on September 1.

These consoles have been used over these years to guide visitors, but it seems they will now be retired due to the gradual discontinuation of the Nintendo 3DS and the lack of available repairs. It is still unknown what will happen to the special editions used in the museum, but they could become highly sought-after collectibles.

The software included over 600 images, 30 hours of audio, and 3D reconstructions of museum rooms. Although the replacement has not yet been confirmed, it could be a new app. We’ll have to keep an eye on it.
