Now we have Yakuza kiwami 2 coming our way, which will receive a new version for Nintendo Switch 2. Fans will be able to enjoy the title on November 13, 2025. Also on the same day, Yakuza Kiwami 1 will have a native version for Nintendo Switch 2. It will include improved frame rate and graphics, among other things.

Both titles will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on that date, and players who already own a copy of Yakuza Kiwami for Nintendo Switch can purchase the upgrade package for Nintendo Switch 2 at a lower price. On the other hand, we also have Yakuza kiwami 3 and Dark Ties on the way. It will be released on February 12, 2026 on Switch 2 and the prices, editions, and other details have already been revealed.

Now we have new statements about the new independent expansion Dark Ties, focused on the story of Yoshitaka Mine. According to director Ryosuke Horii, Mine is «a gangster, a character immersed in loneliness and madness,» someone who «doesn’t seek to help others but might intervene if someone begs him.» Producer Sakamoto added that this is «the darkest story in the entire series», marked by a progressive descent into despair and decisions that «make the tone of this story particularly dark compared to the rest,» offering a different and darker approach within the Yakuza universe.
