It’s 2035, and the world stands on the brink of chaos. When Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on PS5 and PS4 on November 14, players will face new and recurring threats in the cooperative campaign, culminating in the replayable Endgame experience.

With just days until the game’s release, let’s take a closer look at the story so far, followed by more details about Endgame.

Cooperative Campaign and Final Mission

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, PlayStation players will experience an innovative cooperative campaign that redefines the Black Ops experience. Embark on high-stakes missions as part of a team or go solo across a vast range of challenges.

From the neon-lit rooftops of Japan to the Mediterranean coastline, uncover the truth behind The Guild and the weapon that threatens to weaponize fear. Players will also explore Avalon, an expansive city whose secrets span the entire Campaign.

A primary goal of Black Ops 7’s story was to deliver a standalone narrative while honoring the series’ legacy. Throughout development, there were significant opportunities to reconnect characters and storylines from previous Black Ops titles, bringing them into this near-future setting where their presence could enhance the experience. However, it was crucial to ensure that even players unfamiliar with the Black Ops lore could enjoy a deeply immersive and connected story and world.

After completing the first 11 missions in the cooperative campaign, players unlock Endgame, a replayable cooperative experience designed for 1 to 32 players in teams of up to four.

Fight through increasingly expansive exposure zones across Avalon, level up your skill tracks and combat scores, complete dynamic objectives, and escape to preserve your hard-earned progress—all while earning XP and unlocking weapon camos and operator gear.

The Endgame Journey

Your C-Link COMBAT OS unlocks full equipment customization. Your ultimate goal is to gain enough power to reach the most exposed zones, where a massive toxin leak is threatening Avalon.

Players begin by selecting an operator and major/minor abilities, defining your unique combat style, including skills like the hand cannon, active camouflage, grappling hook, and more.

Equip your arsenal, deploy it, and gain power by completing objectives and defeating enemies to boost your operator’s combat score. As your combat rating increases, you’ll unlock two skill paths to choose from, which continue expanding as your operator’s rating improves over time, reaching up to level 60.

There are six skill tracks in total, from the gunner with abilities like enhanced reload speed and quick weapon switch to the surgeon with skills like improved health regeneration and rapid revival.

If you die in action, you lose everything. Enter, fight, and escape.

The Story So Far

Start with Menéndez, the villain from Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 who has returned, threatening to plunge the world back into darkness.

Raúl Menéndez

«Once again, you will know fear.» — Raúl Menéndez
Raúl Menéndez first appeared in 1986 as the leader of the Menéndez Cartel. He captured CIA agent Frank Woods and declared him dead. When Alex Mason learns of his friend’s predicament, he leaves his son David behind to save Woods.

Woods seeks revenge and gets the green light to invade the villain’s house. Amid the battle’s chaos, Woods throws a grenade into the house, accidentally killing Menéndez’s sister, Josefina.

Several years later, Menéndez takes revenge by tricking Woods into shooting Alex Mason. He then strikes Woods in both knees, leaving him paralyzed. Just as Menéndez suffered, now Woods will too.

Menéndez later forms the political movement Cordis Die, spreading propaganda that portrays the group as a global advocate for the impoverished while secretly inciting a new Cold War.

Alex Mason’s son, David, with Woods’ help, finally stops Menéndez. After a multi-generational pursuit, he lays the villain to rest… or so he thinks.

The Next Frontier: The Guild

As the world reels from news of Menéndez’s return, The Guild, a global tech giant led by CEO Emma Kagan, accepts the challenge of defending humanity, promising peace through security using advanced technology to protect citizens and openly confronting Menéndez and his followers.

The Fight Continues: David and JSOC

Although both are enemies of Menéndez, David Mason questions The Guild’s true motives. It’s up to him and his elite JSOC operators to uncover the truth, including reports of a weapon designed to turn fear into an instrument of chaos.
