Borderlands 4 para Nintendo Switch 2 desvela nuevas claves en Creator’s Voice: hardware sin barreras, mundo abierto y más

Many of us are eagerly waiting for the release date of the Nintendo Switch 2 of Borderlands 4. Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Software recently shared that the game will arrive on multiple platforms on September 12, 2025, earlier than its original date of September 23.

However, it is still unclear if this new date also applies to the Nintendo Switch 2 version since the latest Nintendo Direct did not mention a date for this platform.

In any case, this game, which could end up costing $80, is the latest installment in Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice video series. In the video, Randy Pitchford from Gearbox shares the following:

• The developer started his journey in games thanks to his father, who taught him programming and design.
• His connection with games began as a family experience, playing with his brother and parents since childhood.
• He states that Nintendo was key in his career as a player and developer.
• Currently, they are developing Borderlands 4 directly for Nintendo Switch 2, not as a later port, which they find exciting.
• The platform allows fully utilizing the cooperative features of the game, fostering a social and shared experience.
• Nintendo Switch 2 is perceived as a powerful, compact machine, very suitable for ambitious games like Borderlands 4.
• They highlight that the hardware does not present barriers, but enhances the team’s creativity.
• Borderlands 4 offers a completely continuous open world for the first time.
• Players will be able to explore any visible part of the world, even from great distances.
• New mechanics are added: double jump, lateral movement, hook use, among others, increasing mobility and dynamics.
• The studio began working on Borderlands 4 immediately after releasing Borderlands 3 in 2019, investing six years of development.
• The additional time allowed for creating more enemies, adjusting humor and narrative, and inventing new crazy weapons, true to the series’ style.
