Get ready for an unrelenting alien assault in Let Them Come: Onslaught – launching today on Xbox Series X|S – where the Bullet Heaven game collides with the brave spirit of classic retro sci-fi.
Each run challenges you to create the perfect weapon build from an arsenal of exaggerated weapons and explosive upgrades, destroying alien hordes in a display of feedback loop chaos. To give you an edge in this hostile alien world, where even the planet tries to kill you, we’ve compiled some important tips to ensure victory for Xbox players worldwide.
Surviving the Attack
Offense is King: To avoid being overwhelmed by the swarm, ensure your damage output grows consistently throughout your run. There are many offensive upgrades in the Armory between runs to make sure you have the firepower needed to survive.
But don’t neglect defense: While offense should be a priority, defense is also crucial long-term. The shield you can equip by leveling up will protect you from a hit and recharge after a cooldown period. Combining the shield, health regeneration, and armor can drastically extend your lifespan.
I-Frames are your friends: There are several ways to gain invincibility frames: after taking a hit, after your super shield runs out, or after using the soldier’s dash ability. Get used to how long you have invincibility to slip through enemy waves and reposition yourself.
Chaining dashes: If you have multiple dash charges available, chain them in quick succession to blast through massive enemy waves. There are enough invincibility frames to keep you unscathed while chaining dashes.

Looking for health packs: Sometimes mini-bosses drop health packs, but the most reliable way to find them is by breaking common boxes. It’s worth exploring the level and smashing them to heal consistently during the run.
Emergency healing: When leveling up, you’re occasionally offered the option to increase your max HP by 150. Choosing this not only boosts your health cap but also heals you by that amount. It can save your life when you’re near death.
Not all enemies hit hard: Larger enemies tend to deal more damage than smaller ones or enemy projectiles. If you’re surrounded and know you’ll take damage, try letting a small spider hit you to minimize the damage, then use invincibility frames to escape through tougher enemies.
Looking for credits: Credits are also mainly found in common boxes, but they can also be rewarded by completing specific missions. A great way to earn more credits is to buy the Extermination Contract upgrade in the Armory; this gives you more random credits per mini-boss kill. After defeating the main boss of a level, you’ll be rewarded with an additional enemy wave that grants credits. Lastly, did you know completing a level gives you a credit multiplier bonus? And playing on hard mode also rewards an extra credit multiplier!
Missions or supply drops? During runs, bonus missions and supply drops can activate simultaneously, and you’ll have to choose which to pursue. There are some factors that can help you decide in a fraction of a second.
With missions, you can see what the reward will be in the top-right corner of the screen. If you like the proposed reward, prioritize completing the mission first because with Supply Drops, you never know what the reward is until you break it.
Missions also show you how close you are to your goal. So, if you’re running out of time and the mission is still too far, switching your priority to grab the supply drop makes sense.

Weapon Choice
Weapon balance: Different weapons serve different roles. Some are good at pushing enemies back but deal less damage. Others target specific enemies, while others fire randomly and work better when the screen is full of foes. Some damage enemies near you, while others have longer range. The key to a successful run is experimenting with weapon combinations and finding a playstyle that suits you.
Invest in your weapons: Many weapons start showing their potential at level 3. For example, the shotgun gains double shot, electric grenades now launch in batches of two, and the flamethrower will set enemies on fire. If you find your build lacking, it might be because you have too many level 3 weapons.
Shotgun vs. Repulsion: Both weapons specialize in pushing enemies back. Repulsion is better for general pushback because enemies are pushed around you, but the shotgun deals more damage and can paralyze enemies, reducing their movement speed. If you struggle to survive enemy hordes, you can try both, but you might have trouble defeating the final boss due to limited damage output.

Auto Gun vs. Blaster: Both weapons have low cooldown and automatically target the nearest enemy, making them easy to use. However, the Blaster requires more skill because you must stay still to increase its firing speed. At lower levels, this weapon is a bit underwhelming, but at higher levels, it becomes a powerful tool for focusing on bosses that deal constant damage.
Electric Grenades vs. Rocket Barrage: These weapons have a lot in common. Both fire in random directions and deal massive area damage. The main difference is that grenades attack close range while rockets fire further. Depending on your build, you might want to prioritize one over the other. Or get both for massive damage, but you’ll rely on RNG to hit the right targets.
Let Them Come: Onslaught arrives on Xbox Series X|S on November 11, 2025. Now you’re fully prepared for the horrors awaiting you in this hostile alien world. Happy hunting!
