Estudio analiza lo justo del proceso de las reservas de Nintendo Switch 2 en Japón y Occidente

At Nintenderos, we previously provided the comparative table of the cheapest Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan and now we have more news from this country. You know that in Japan, Nintendo launched two versions: one identical to the international version and another more affordable with regional lock, which only allows playing Japanese titles. This version costs approximately $343 (49,980 yen), which is a significant difference. After Nintendo explained why this is the case in Japan as well as the details of a government aid that covers the cost of the console, it seems that the console is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain there.
We already received a report highlighting this and after the launch it was being resold at inflated prices. All of this explains the impressive sales it has achieved, and today we have a rather interesting study. This one was shared by the Osaka University Center for Ethical, Legal, and Social Research and presents the following data:
-
To prevent speculation, Nintendo used different reservation methods in Japan and the US:
Otros contenidos en esta categoría:
-
Japan: Random lottery system among registrants.
-
US: Pre-orders by order of arrival (those who request first get it first).
-
-
In both cases, a Nintendo account was required to participate.
-
The study suggests that Nintendo chose these systems based on the culture of each country:
-
In Japan, lotteries are seen as fair methods and are commonly used for event entries.
-
In US, speed or earliest arrival is preferred, and lotteries are less accepted.
-
-
The US system has already received some criticism, and the rejection would have been greater with a lottery.
-
Nintendo has not publicly commented on the study or confirmed its actual intentions.
