Explican el nombre original que iba a tener la mítica NES Zapper

As some of you may know, NES, despite its technical limitations, was essential in creating iconic works of art in the world of video games. Now we have a curious detail about one of the most peculiar controllers on the platform.

The classic accessory NES Zapper, fondly remembered by fans of duck hunting, almost didn’t have that name for concerning reasons. According to Bruce Lowry, former vice president of sales at Nintendo of America, the peripheral was originally going to be called “light gun,” but due to real incidents where arcade guns were mistaken for real weapons, Nintendo decided to change its color and search for a new name. This is how he shared it in an interview with Time Extension,

In a test with focus groups of mothers, many rejected the idea of having a “gun” in the house, but when the same product was presented under the name “Zapper,” the reaction was completely positive. This simple change of name turned out to be decisive for the success of the accessory and, to some extent, the NES.
