From we know that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will launch on October 30, 2025 on Switch, and even better, the game will be available on both Switch and Switch 2. Also, clarifications were made regarding the compatibility between these two consoles and HD-2D Remake of Dragon Quest III received a free update for Switch 2 with improvements that currently have no date.

Now, after knowing that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is already gold, we have statements from the producer Masaaki Hayasaka. He explained that the decision to launch both games together, instead of separating them as with the HD-2D Remake of Dragon Quest III, was due to practical reasons: price, dates, and offering a complete trilogy faster.

Additionally, Hayasaka mentioned that Square Enix is open to creating more HD-2D remakes in the future, including titles from Dragon Quest and other classics from 8-bit and 16-bit but it will depend on the commercial success of the current remakes.

You know that, in addition to the digital release of the game, the remake will also be available in physical format. Regarding physical options, the Switch 2 version will be launched via game key card. The download size of Dragon Quest I and II HD Remake is 17 GB.
