Explican por qué The Hundred Line tiene 100 finales diferentes

In the June 2024 Nintendo Direct we learned that The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, a new strategy RPG from the creators of Danganronpa, will arrive on Switch in early 2025. In fact, it’s a collaboration between the writer of the Danganronpa series, Kazutaka Kodaka, and the creator of Zero Escape, Kotaro Uchikoshi. Later, it was announced that this tactical RPG combined with visual novel elements will be released on April 24, 2025 and now we have more updates.
Following the confirmation of its demo, the demo is now available. It’s on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in America and Europe. In it, players get to know the Academy and several characters, experiencing the first seven days of the 100-day story, and can transfer the saved data to the full version.
You already know that during development, the studio fell into debt, reflecting the risky bet of its creators. Now, after learning its price, size, and more details and sharing our analysis, we have new statements from Kodaka, as he explained in an interview with GamesRadar that the goal was to create a visual novel that players would want to continue exploring, with multiple routes that allowed them to choose the ending that satisfied them the most.

The idea came from the desire to offer a experience that would challenge the sanity of today’s audience, betting on a combination of quality and quantity in both text and illustrations. We leave you with his words:
Our goal was to create a visual novel that the player could continue playing. To achieve this, we created multiple types of routes and allowed the player to interpret the ending that most satisfied them as the true one. The concept for this new IP came from the desire to create an aspect that would question the sanity of people in the current year. The best we could offer was quality and quantity in terms of text and illustrations, and that’s why we created 100 routes.
They haven’t shared sales figures, but positive reviews and public interest could help improve their financial situation. Remember that they are still in danger for now.
