In a recent interview with Famitsu, the developers of Donkey Kong Bananza have offered comments about the mystery surrounding Pauline, who appears at thirteen years old in the game, generating doubts about her relationship with the adult Pauline from Super Mario Odyssey.

In response to the question of whether it’s the same character or a different one, producer Kenta Motokura gave an ambiguous answer: «Of course, the developers have a plan for it, but I’m sorry, but I’d like you to use your imagination».
